Cable and Cotton Lights - A Giveaway!

What's the weather like where you are? It's raining here, and has been all day. A dark and gloomy day, the dreariest of autumn afternoons and on a Wednesday too, of all days. But luckily it's the season of fairy lights, blankets and candles, and I am really delighted to be able to offer you a fantastic giveaway today - a set of Cable and Cotton Lights! You know that I have been a fan of these lights for some time now and have written about them before as I really do think they are quite lovely.

Cable and Cotton are kindly offering one 20 light string, and you can choose between one of their Pre-Selected collections, or pick your own. All you have to do is leave me a comment. Just tell me your name and where (roughly) you are from. Humour me here, I would just love to know whereabouts you all are. No need to tell me your choices yet - when the giveaway closes I'll contact the winner and do it that way, so if you are an anonymous commenter, you'll need to leave an email address. Once all the details are sorted out, Cable and Cotton then will send the lights directly to you.

I am really sorry but this giveaway is only open to UK and European readers. I tried my very hardest to make it a worldwide competition, but this limitation is to do with things like plugs and wiring, which are beyond my control.

The giveaway will close at midnight on Wednesday 22 October.

Good luck!

This giveaway has now closed. Thank you.

  1. I have visited the Cable and Cotton website many times! I just never have a good enough excuse to buy the lights..... What a great give-away! I live in Glasgow, where it is chilly but dry just now. Christina x

  2. Normally I never participate in giveaways (just to avoid the sadness of never winning ;-)), but this time, I really want to give it a try, I love these lights ! They are not sold here in Belgium (or at least, I've never seen them in stores...). Well, that also answered your question : I'm from Belgium, from Flanders (the dutch speaking part of Belgium), and I live in a small town in the province of Limburg, namely Hasselt (famous for its speculoos, a sort of gingerbread-spiced-biscuit).

  12. Hey Gillian,
I would love to be entered into this giveaway. This morning it was bucketing it down in St Ives. Olly and I had waterproofs on to go to school. By 12, the sun was shining, it was warm and I was walking Honey in flip flops!

  14. Oh wow, I've always wanted some of those, they've been on my wish list for a long time. I went into the Brighton shop a couple of months ago and they had so many lovely colours to choose from. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed!!
Well, saying I live in London is a bit boring, you know that already, so I'll tell you where I've been before coming here.. I was born a little bit inland from Brittany, then moved about 5 times to various places in the northern half of France to then settle somewhere in the Alps when I was 14. I stayed there for a while, spent a year in Germany and a few months near Rome as part of my (language) studies, spent a year studying in Paris, then moved to London, 13 years ago!

  15. It's been a gloomy grey day here too in West Lancashire, I live in a small village about 15 mins from Southport. My fairy lights and candles are already on, which feels so homely and cosy as it's starting to turn a bit stormy out there now.
I saw these lights at Janet Bell's studio in Beaumaris and fell in love with them (you could pick your own colour combo), but we were there for a friends birthday present so have had a serious case of the wanties since.
Thanks for the chance to win such a great giveaway.

  148. What a lovely give-away! I'm originally from Canada but have been living in Wiltshire for the last 12 years - still miss the winters and snow but it's lovely to be able to get outside all year round in the UK without the need for thermals :) AFlower

  151. Gosh what an amazing number of entries! I wondered whether it would be worthwhile adding to them, but then I've always wanted to own a string of Cable and Cotton lights and often drool over them in shops and try and work out a colour combination but then keep changing my mind. I live in Cornwall having moved here several years ago from London via Bristol. I still feel like I'm on holiday, it's a wonderful place. Antonia x

  159. Greetings from the wet and windy county that is Lancashire. I arrived here about 11 years ago from Kent via Essex, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Cheshire - bit of a long winded journey. Now I live in a small village called Croston that my heart calls home.
I love the cotton and cable lights - I've been playing with colours on their website :-), so fingers crossed.

Thanks for such a generous giveaway.

  168. Hi Gillian! My name is Jo, a teacher who tries to crochet to relax in my spare time, and I live in Bristol. I love these cable and cotton lights and have hankered after a string set as they just have a real cosy glow. I am not fond of bold ceiling lighting preferring the glow of fairy lights or table lamps in my house. I think my choice would be the marshmallow set- they'd add a perfect warming and soothing glow in my lounge! I am a regular reader of your blog- thanks for sharing!
